Celebrate European heritage in September

on Sep 07, 2012

If you’re wondering what to do this weekend, and live in one of the countries organising the European Heritage Days, you might want to celebrate the common European heritage by taking part in one of the many open events that will take place in September, and visit buildings, monuments and other sites of cultural significance which are usually not open to the public.

Many of those events give you a chance to take pictures of buildings and objects which are not often photographed; we suggest to use this opportunity and take pictures and upload them to Wikimedia Commons as part of our competition!

For a full list of events by country, please see this PDF document prepared by the Council of Europe. Good luck, and have fun!
