5000 uploads
Barely three days going, we welcomed today the 5000th upload for Wiki Loves Monuments! Participation is high throughout Europe, but some countries are doing especially well. France (almost 1000 uploads), Germany (800+) and Poland (750+) are currently the countries with most uploads, closely followed by the Netherlands (550+), Belgium (500+), Spain (700+) and Estonia (400+). Some other countries are still picking up steam and can use some more submissions.
Be it a church in Poland, a historical house in Amsterdam, Netherlands, an aquaduct in Rhône-Alpes, France or a pedestrian bridge in Germany — all are European heritage, and all are submitted through the contest. The great diversity in the history and culture of Europe are this way clearly reflected in architecture, types of buildings and many other ways.
The contest just started, so lets see where this takes us!
